We refined the geometry and structure of the Nitro Blade “Burr” to get the grinding performance we were looking for and the particle distribution that worked best when extracting fresh Arabica beans. Making a Nitro blade is a serious engineering task that requires special tools and machinery, excellent craftsmanship and a lot of experience. Martensitic steel with a high nitrogen content is extremely difficult to work with. But when finished, it is hard, highly wear resistant and has a high degree of edge retention.
